Why is there a guest limit on the Free plan?
25 guests covers most casual parties — birthdays, dinners, game nights — and keeps HostIt free forever for that audience. Larger gatherings tend to need more tools (multiple invite links, dietary tracking, vendor coordination), so they unlock with an Event Pass or Pro.
Do Event Passes expire?
A single Event Pass stays active for 90 days after purchase, which covers planning and the post-party wrap-up. The 4-Pack gives you four credits to spend across separate events; credits remain redeemable for 12 months from purchase.
Can I cancel Pro?
Yes — cancel anytime from your account settings. You keep Pro features through the end of your paid year, then your account drops back to Free. No charge to reactivate later.
What happens to my events if I downgrade?
Nothing is deleted. Existing events stay exactly as they are, including guest lists that exceed the 25-guest free cap. The cap only applies when you try to add a new guest to a free event.
Do my guests need an account to RSVP?
No. Guests get a personal link, click it, and respond. No sign-up, no app, no password. Their replies appear on your dashboard automatically.
Are there hidden fees or per-guest charges?
No. The price you see is the price you pay. We don't charge per-guest, per-invite, or per-message. Optional vendor purchases (groceries, decor) go directly through that vendor — HostIt doesn't mark them up.
Refund policy?
If something goes wrong with a pass or subscription within 14 days, email Support and we'll make it right.
