HostIt is a simpler way to host. We help you turn the messy parts of planning a party — guest lists, invitations, RSVPs, schedules, last-minute changes — into something you can manage in a few taps from your phone. The product lives at mypartyhost.com and is free to get started.
The honest answer: every existing tool was either dated, too corporate, or designed for events that don't actually happen most weekends. Evite-style platforms feel like opening a piece of junk mail. Facebook events leak details to people you didn't invite and bury responses in the feed. Group chats lose every detail under a stream of memes and "lol can't wait." And designing an invite in Canva, then begging people to RSVP through a separate Google Form, is a workflow only a host would tolerate.
We started HostIt to be the thing we wished existed when we threw our own parties: one link to send, one place for everything, a guest experience that takes two seconds, and a host experience that doesn't require a spreadsheet on the side.
A few intentional choices set HostIt apart from the alternatives:
HostIt is built by a small independent team — currently just a solo developer with a lot of friends who throw parties. We're not a big company, we don't sell your data, and the roadmap is shaped by what real hosts actually need. If you've got an idea, a complaint, or a feature you wish existed, we'd love to hear about it.
The product is built on Firebase (Google's web infrastructure) for reliability, and we maintain it ourselves. There's no VC pressure pushing us toward growth-hacking metrics, no ad network embedded in the host or guest experience, and no surprise feature changes designed to "increase engagement."
The near-term roadmap is focused on smoothing the things hosts actually do most: better invitation customization, smarter menu suggestions for common cuisines, friendlier potluck coordination, and improved cross-event templates so recurring parties (monthly book clubs, annual holiday gatherings) are nearly automatic to set up.
Further out we're looking at lightweight payment splits for shared events, better calendar integration, and improved support for events with multiple hosts. We don't announce features until they ship, but if you want to influence priorities, the best way is to email us with what's missing for you.
